Daarul Qur'aan Institute
The Daarul Qur’aan Institute in Cape Town is one of the initiatives of the South African Qur’aan Union. The center provides a platform where learners regardless of age or literacy background can learn to recite and memorize the Holy Qur’aan. Daarul Qur’aan Institute aims to create a Qur’aan- loving society where students are introduced to all aspects of the Deen of Islam. By using the best ways and methodologies of teaching, the institute intends to provide (especially) the young minds with sound education values according an Islamic upbringing that is not confined to rituals and activities but more so, it is apparent in everything they do and also in the way that they view and understand the world.
Established in 2009, Daarul Qur’aan Institute is a fulltime (non-boarding) facility for the memorization of the Holy Qur’aan and comprises three sections:
1. Hifdh program for toddlers:
Children from as young as three years are taught to read and memorize the Holy Qur’aan. Using various modern techniques of teaching, the students memorizes more than a quarter Juz per year, together with Kalimah’s, masnoon duas, qasaaid, etc.
2. Academic Schooling:
Daarul Qur’aan Institute has developed its own curriculum that integrates Qur’aan memorization and Islamic Studies with the academic development of young children. The program presently caters from Pre- Primary into Primary, and High school levels. It is our intention to establish a graded 16- year course whereupon the student would qualify as a Matriculant, Haafidh, and Imaam, and equipping the prospective student with the ability to understand and translate the entire Qur’aan.
3. Adult and Youth literacy classes:
Special provisions are made for males and females to learn to recite the Qur’aan from scratch on a part- time basis.
